Still In Love

I got up very early on Christmas Eve, just to see if my mom had put the Christmas presents under the tree yet. Oh yeah! They were there! Every year my mother and her sister (who is my aunty) start cooking early on Christmas morning. They always cook a lot of food and invite their friends and family for dinner (which is always quite a feast).

I went upstairs to finish wrapping some Christmas presents that I had bought a few days earlier. I bought gifts for my two sisters, my big brother, and of course my parents. I also got some earrings for Sandy (my big sister) and a nice watch for my other sister, Debbie (who is only a year older than I am). For my big brother, Bobby, I bought a shaving set, because he was always shaving in the bathroom. Last but not least, I got my mom (Cherry) a pocket book with a lot of compartments so that she could arrange her stuff in it. I used all the money that I had been saving up since the first week in October.

This Christmas was going to be the best Christmas ever! At ten years old, I was going to meet my biological father for the first time. I was anxious to see what he looked like, if he resembled me, if he had my blue eyes.you know, things like that. My mother always told me that he looked a lot like me. She told me that he lived in England, and she told me that his name was Donovan McLean. She told me he had black hair and blue eyes, that his parents were very rich, and he was married to another woman and that they were living together. She also told me that the reason my father wasn’t in my life was that she couldn’t tell him about me, because if she did it might break up his marriage. She began to remember the first time she met him.

Cherry worked at the Twin Tower Hotel for about five years. Donovan was on a business trip, and he was staying there in a suite. The first time they met was when he came to the counter to check in. At the time she was the receptionist, the person who checked the customers into their rooms. As she was checking him into the hotel, she remembered thinking that he was very handsome.

Okay, Mr. Mclean, consider yourself checked in. Here is your key, and I hope you will enjoy your stay, she said. Later, during her lunch break, she was in the elevator on her way to the cafeteria on the second floor. The elevator stopped and Donovan stepped in just as it was about to close.

Good day, Miss Cherry, he said.

How did you know my name was Cherry?

He smiled at her, saying, It’s on your name tag. All employees had to wear their name tags, and suddenly she felt embarrassed.

Oh, silly me. I didn’t realize I still had it on because I normally take it off on my lunch break, she said. Then he asked her to join him for lunch because he hated to eat alone, but she told him that the hotel policy was that employees were not supposed to socialize with their customers. He replied that he was going to a restaurant in another hotel and that it would be okay. In that case she would love to, she told him.

Cherry and Donovan went into a black limousine that was waiting at the back entrance of the hotel. Donovan was wearing a black suit and dark sunglasses. They went to a very expensive Italian restaurant called Lulu. Donovan asked her if she liked Italian food. She told him that she never had Italian food, but her friends told her that it was very good. Donovan laughed at her response, then  whispered that it was his first time too. They seemed to be enjoying each other’s company when Cherry looked at her watch and realized that her lunch time would be up in approximately 15 minutes. Donovan signaled for the waiter,  paid him, and gave him a big tip. The waiter most have thanked him a million times. It took about 10 minutes to return to the hotel.

They reached the hotel lobby just in time for her shift. Cherry was putting her name tag back on as she was going around the counter. At the end of the day she was very exhausted , but as she was about to go into the elevator she heard someone calling her name. She turned around and saw Donovan coming towards her.

As he reached up to her, he said, Can I invite you up for a night cap? Even though she felt tired, she told him yes and they went to his room. He opened the door and they walked in. Once there, she realized that for some reason, she was attracted to him. Inside, his suite smelled like fresh roses, and while she was sitting down, he went into the bedroom and came back out with a bottle of red label wine.

After a while they were both drunk, and Donovan blurted out that he wished his wife was more like her She was so drunk, however, that she didn’t realize what he had said. They ended up sleeping together that night. Cherry woke up the next morning with a splitting headache, and to make matters worse in a strange bed. Realizing what had happened she slipped out of the bed, quietly picked up her clothes, and went to her room, hoping that nobody had seen her. It was her day off, and she had planned to spend the day in the Jacuzzi relaxing. She had her eyes closed and was listening to music, unaware that Donovan had climbed in beside her. He gently pulled the headphone out of her ear.

            Hello, he said.

            Oh, Mr. McLean, she responded.

Please call me Donovan. He asked her if she was working today and she told him that it was her day off. Then he offered to take her to lunch. She accepted, and they decided to go to their rooms to change. When he got up she was admiring his firm abs, thinking, Busy guys like him—when does he find time to work out? He held out his hands, and she put her hands in his, and as he gently pulled her up, she felt a strange connection as he wrapped the towel around her, she noticed that he was admiring her body.

He was still holding her hand when the elevator door opened. They got in and as the door closed, he immediately spun her around so that their bodies were one. They paused for a moment and looked into each other’s, eyes and slowly they began to kiss. It was as if he used his eyes to hypnotize her to do whatever he wanted. Although she felt week in the knees from that passionate kiss, she found strength to walk out of the elevator when the door opened on the fifth floor.

Before the door closes he shouted, Meet you at the cafeteria in five minutes?

Okay, she said. She went in her room took a shower and got dressed. She had on a low cut, sleeveless blouse and a tight fitting skirt. Her hair was in a pony tail and, grabbing her pocket book from off the bed, she headed for the door.  She stopped to look in the mirror, and suddenly her conscience took over.

Cherry, he is a married man.

I know, but he has this control over me. Then she realized that she was actually falling in love with him.

She wasn’t sure what to do, so she said to herself, Okay, I am going to tell him that I can’t do this any longer, because he is a married man. When she reached the cafeteria Donovan was already sitting down. He was dressed casually. He got up when he saw her approaching the table. They laughed and talked during lunch, and after that they went for a walk by the beach. He took his jacket off and put it around her shoulders because he noticed that she was shivering.

He told her that he and his wife were having problems, because he wanted to start a family and apparently she wanted to wait. He went on, saying that he was getting older and he wanted to see his children grow up, and that he wanted grand-kids. Donovan told her that the first time he saw her, he was attracted to her, and that her smile was captivating. Then he told her that he was falling in love with her.

Just as she was about to say something, he put his finger on her lips and said,       Let me finish. I am leaving tomorrow and I would love to keep in touch with you.He said then finally she gets a chance to say something, tears running down her cheeks.

Donovan, I can’t do this. You are a married man, and I would advise you to try and convince your wife to reconsider her decision. But as she was walking away he pulled her back and they shared another passionate kiss, which lasted longer than the last one. When they pulled apart she ran up the steps and into the open elevator. She fell to her knees in the elevator crying her eyes out. She felt confused, and her heart was broken in a million pieces. Her conscience said, You did the right thing Cherry.” “But why do I feel so terrible?” “As they say, breaking up is hard to do.

He checked out the next day, and she never heard from him again. After two months passed, she found out that she was pregnant. She thought that she could have the child and raise him on her own, even though she remembered that he had given her his card the first time they met. But as the years went by she realized that she needed his help. Anyways, she got up enough courage to finally let him know that she had his son. She knew that he could afford to help her. I got the feeling that she was still in love with him. She never told him about her other kids, because she wasn’t planning on getting involved with him.

She really needed the money to help with bills and other expenses. I didn’t get enough sleep that night because I was too anxious to see my father for the first time. It was six in the afternoon when my mom went to pick him up at the airport. I started watching the clock on the wall in the living room, just counting down the hours, then the minutes. When I heard my mother pull her car into the driveway, I ran to the door to open it. That’s when I got the first glimpse of my father. I felt a little dizzy, but I ran right into his arms. He kept kissing me all over, saying that he loved me. So now you know the reason I would never forget this Christmas. It was the best Christmas present I have ever gotten.

Donovan brought presents for everybody. I finally got the chance to ask my mom if I could spend some time with my dad in England, but she told me that she would think about it. Donovan and Cherry went in the living room to talk, and while they were talking the kids were opening their presents. The first question he asked her was why she didn’t tell him that he fathered a child when she knew how much he wanted kids? She could tell from his voice that he was deeply hurt. When she told him her reasons he stopped talking for a moment. Then  told her that he had gotten a divorce and had been living alone for the past three years, and would like his son to spend the summer holidays in England so that he could get the chance to know him a little better.

Donovan told her that he had booked a hotel room in Manhattan and gave her his number. As I came down stairs to talk to my father, I could tell that they were talking about me. My mother had her back turned so she wasn’t aware that I was there. Cherry took a deep breath.

Give me a few days to think it over, she said.

Can he spend the night with me at the hotel? I will bring him back in the morning. He asked her when he saw his son standing on the steps looking down at them.

Yes! I blurted out, without realizing that I said it out loud. They both turned their attention to me. I walked up to them and said to my mother while holding her hands.   Mother, can I please? I showed her my puppy dog face, hoping that she would say yes. Cherry took a few minutes before she made her decision.

Yes, but promise me that you will behave, she said.

Yes, I promise. Can I take Mr. Sparks with me? I pleaded. Mr. Sparks was a stuffed toy she bought for me when I was a baby. I carried him everywhere I went, since she told me that he would protect me from the boogieman in my closet. I ran up the stairs to get some of my other toys. When I was in my room, Mother came in to pack an overnight bag. While packing the bag she started to get emotional. I walked over to her and she hugged me. I used my finger to wipe away her tears, and she looked into my eyes.

I love you...call me as soon as you reach the hotel? she said. I had never been away from her before.

Cherry stood at the door as the taxi drove off with Donovan and her son. I waved good bye from the back seat, and she waved back. Tears were running down her face as she closed the door. At the hotel, Donovan and I came out of the taxi and  walked over to the checkout counter, him holding my hand. After my father took the keys from the lady we went into the elevator at the end of the lobby. In his room there were two single beds. A bathroom was the first thing we passed when we came into the room. There were also two night tables by each bed. I picked the bed closest to the glass door that lead to the patio, since looking down from the patio made me feel dizzy (we were on the tenth floor). Before Donovan started unpacking his stuff he called me and started asking me if I would like to spend the summer holidays in England with him. Summer holidays were only a month away. I was so happy I wanted to jump up and down, but I didn’t let my emotions take control of me. He told me that he had discussed it with my mom and she told him that she would think about it, so I must keep my fingers crossed. I didn’t bother to let him know that I had overheard them talking about it.

The next day we went down to the pool. I asked my father if I could call my mom, and he gave me his cell phone. I got up and walked away because I needed some privacy. He was only spending a week in town and I wanted to ask her if it was okay to spend the entire week with him. To my surprise, mother said yes! I told her thanks and hung up. I went back to my father, who was swimming in the pool.

He saw me coming and said, I will race you over to the other end. Winner gets to choose dessert! I threw the cell phone on the towel by the lounge chair and jumped in the pool. We had a lot of fun together. We were talking and laughing as if we had known each other for years. I told my father what my mother said.

That’s nice of her, he replied. My father didn’t know, but I just loved his English accent. The week went by so fast, and I was sorry to see him go. At the airport we waved to my father as he entered the plane, and he stopped and waved back. I noticed that my mom had that lovesick look in her eyes whenever she talked about father.

You still in love with him, aren’t you? I asked.

Yes, I am, and promise me that you will never tell him, okay? But that was a promise I wasn’t able to keep.

It was approaching the summer holidays and I was getting more excited by the minute. My mother took me to the embassy because a visa was required to go to another country. My father sent my ticket through the mail, and I received it two weeks before the summer holidays began. My siblings were going to their father’s for the holidays as they did every year. I had a sleepless night because I was too anxious for next day to come. I figured I would get some sleep on the plane. The taxi didn’t take long to reach the airport. After my mother got me checked in we had to wait for a flight attendant to come for me, since children under age 19 were not allowed on the plane without an adult accompanying them. We also had to have  a name tag on the front of our shirts. There were five if us waiting on the flight attendant. We were waiting for a very long time, then finally the flight attendant came and everybody started hugging their parents good bye. My mom wanted to kiss me too but I stopped her, as I felt embarrassed doing that in public. She was always kissing me, like when she take me to school. She kissed me on the cheek at the gate.

The flight attendant informed the parents not to leave the airport until the plane took off. I waved good bye to my mother. As we were leaving to board the plane, I saw tears running down her face. Then she did our secret I love you sign. We use our finger for the letters, then we  touch our hearts with the same finger and point to each other while we said I love you to ourselves.

I must have slept all the way to England, because I didn’t get to see the clouds while the plane was in the air. I woke up just as the plane was landing. We were the last to leave the plane because we had to wait on the air hostess to take us to the  counter for our luggage. I had Mr. Sparks with me the whole time; he was in my hand luggage. My father had to sign and show his ID to receive me—that was the airport policy.

England wasn’t what I was expecting. There were a lot of old buildings, the people were very polite, and they all had the same accent as my father. Donovan lived in a town house in the country area. We took a taxi to his home, which was a very long drive. I kept asking, Are we there yet? until I finally fell asleep. I woke up when the taxi stopped in front of his house.

His house was huge. There were servants doing this and that, and the inside reminded me of the hotel we stayed at back home. There were at least four bedrooms. The living room had a big, flat screen television on the wall, and there were three couches. The kitchen was big also. In the dining room there was an antique dining room set with six chairs. I was wondering, for a man who lives alone, why did he need to have so much furniture? While we were going up the stairs, he told me that he had fixed a room for me. Immediately, I started getting excited. We went past two bedrooms before he stopped at the room I would be staying in. I couldn’t believe it—the first thing I saw was a flat screen computer that looked brand new! There was also a single bed, my own television, and a bathroom in my bedroom. I had never had that kind of luxury before.

Let’s call your mom and tell her that we reached home safely, shall we, he said as he took up the portable phone that was on the table beside the computer. Dad let me talk to her first. I was telling her about all the cool stuff in my room when I realized that I hadn’t given her a chance to say anything. After we finished talking to mother he helped me out of my clothing, and I put on the blue pajamas that were on the bed (it was 10 o’clock at night there). My father told me not to stay up too late because he had made plans for me tomorrow. He kissed me on the cheek and told me good night, then left. I could hear the sadness in his voice, and I wondered if he had something on his mind. Suddenly, I remembered that I had heard the same sadness in my mother’s voice too.

Maybe they both still love each other? I said to myself. I will have to find a way to get them back together, but how can I do that? I have got to find a way. I remembered that Mother’s birthday was coming up soon, and that I wanted to get her a nice birthday present. The next day when my dad came into my room, I asked him if I could talk to him for a while. He sat down beside me on the bed, and then I begin to tell him that mother told me that she still had feelings for him. I asked him if he still loved her. He hesitated for a few minutes before  answering me.

Okay, Son, what makes you think that? he said.

I could hear it in your voice when you talked to her.  So are you? Then he turned to look me in the eyes and he told me yes, and that he had never stopped loving her. For all those years he hadn’t heard from her, but she was always on his mind. I told him that her birthday was next week, Wednesday, and asked him, why don’t he invite her here to spend her birthday with us together? I had always wondered what it would be like to have both parents living under one roof. I will have to get back to you on that one, he said.

Later that evening he took me to visit his sisters and his brother, and I met all of my cousins They all welcomed me into the family. I was wondering why my mom hadn’t told me that I had cousins. I assumed that it was because she didn’t know much about my father. While I was upstairs playing with one of my cousins, Father was downstairs talking with his family. After we left, he took me to meet my grandparents, who lived together in a mansion  in that same country area. It was a very long ride to their house, and I must have dozed off a couple of times. Finally, the car stopped and I looked out the window and saw three little dogs running in our direction. I quickly got out and greeted them. Their tails were wagging as if they were glad to see me. I had always wanted a pet, but Mom said that pets weren’t allowed in our building.

My father came around. You will have plenty of time to play with them at another time. Come on, let’s go inside, he said.

We went inside, and as we entered the mansion I saw his parents coming down what looked like a two way staircase that went in two different directions. The inside of the house was huge. There were servants everywhere, all busy doing something. As they reached up to us they hugged and kiss my father. He introduced me to them, and my grandmother took my hand. While we were walking away she asked me if I liked ice-cream, and what my favorite flavor was. She took me in the kitchen. It was very big, and there were two refrigerators with three doors each. I had never seen a three door fridge before. The stove was electric.

She told me to sit down at a huge table that had at least twelve antique chairs around it. There were chandeliers hanging from the roof of every room, including the kitchen (except for the bathrooms). The kitchen had four entrances. I saw one of the servants coming toward me with a big bowl of ice-cream. Grandma was walking behind her She sat down on the chair next to me and started asking me about school and other stuff. We were talking and laughing with each other when my dad walked in with Grandpa. They came over to where I was sitting and Grandpa used his hands to rub my head. My mom always did to that to me whenever I did something good. I guess it was her way of saying good job to me.

I was sad when Dad told me that we had to go. I ran over to Grandma. First she kissed and hugged me, then Grandpa lifted me up and spun me around and kissed me. I went outside, where my father was waiting for me by his car (he drove a black, 2009 Mercedes Benz). We got home very late, talked for a while, then went to bed. In the morning he told me that he had some business meeting that he had to attend, and asked if he could leave me there by myself. I told him yes, thinking that I would get the chance to explore outside the house, which I hadn’t done yet.

He kissed me on my head and left. I waited until I heard his car drive off before I went for a walk outside. There was a pool around the back entrance and a Jacuzzi at the corner, and I thought I would take swim later when Dad got home. The garden was very beautiful, and it had a lot of different type of flowers growing in it—tulips, roses, and crocuses.

I was outside for at least two hours. I got was hungry, so I went in the kitchen for a snack. One of his maids fixed me a sandwich and a soda, and after that I went to my room and switched the TV on. I got on the computer and sent emails some of my friends, to my mom, and to the rest of my family, telling them what a wonderful time I was having. Suddenly I heard Dad’s voice downstairs. I grabbed the TV remote and switched it off, because I wasn’t really watching it any way. I could hear him coming up the stairs, but he stopped in his room first, then came into mine.

Son, can you keep a secret? he said as he entered my room. I wanted to say no because I am not good at keeping secrets, but I wanted to hear what the secret was.

Yes, I replied, as he lifted me up and placed me on his lap.

He took a deep breath before starting to talk. Remember how I told you this morning that I had to go to a business meeting? Well, I lied. Do you want to know where I went? he asked, but he didn’t wait for my answer.

I went downtown and bought a ticket for your mom to come here on her birthday. Isn’t that great? he said proudly. To tell you the truth I was stunned. I didn’t realize that he remembered that I had told him that it was Mother’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. He told me that he noticed that I missed my mother, especially when he brought up her name. Without thinking, I jumped out of his lap.

Yes! I yelled. He got up and went for the phone

OK, let’s call her and give her the good news, he said as he dialed her number, but the phone kept ringing without an answer. We tried calling back at least three times that day, but still no answer. Finally we left a message. My father noticed that I looked worried, so to comfort me he told me that we could try calling tomorrow.

The next morning my dad and I spent part of the day in the pool, and my cousins came to spend the rest of the day with me too. Right after my cousins left the phone rang. It was 10 pm in England, which is about 5pm in the US. It was my mother on the phone, and Dad called me down stairs to tell me that she wanted to speak to me.

            Hello, I said.

What is the good news you guys wanted to tell me? Mom asked.

I hesitated for a moment. Mother, your birthday is coming up and.well, Father and I thought that it would be nice if you could join us here.on your birthday, I said. I didn’t hear anything on the other end for a while so I thought she had hung up on me.

Finally her voice came back, Whose idea was this? she said.

I tried telling her that both of us came up with it.. Anyway, Dad noticed that I was missing you. but she cut me off before I could finish.

Let me talk to your father, she said, sounding upset, and I gave the phone to Dad. I went back upstairs to my room while they talked for a while. Finally he hung up. I waited for my dad to tell me what Mother had said, but because he took such a long time to come, I assumed that she had turned him down. After a while he came into my room, but by the time he did I had fallen asleep.

As he was fixing the covers over me I turned. What did Mom say, Dad? Is she coming? I asked. He smiled and told me that she only agreed to come because he had already bought the ticket.

I woke up very early the next morning and ran into Father’s room. I jumped into. his bed.Did she say she was coming, Dad? Did she? I asked.

You weren’t this excited when I told you last night, my dad said.

That’s because I thought I was dreaming, I said sleepily. For some reason I felt very tired, and I fell asleep in my father’s bed.

It was a bright and sunny morning, and I could hear the birds singing in the garden around back. I wished that I had a pet bird or a dog that I could play with, and decided that I would name the dog Roger. I would take him outside for long walks in the summer, teach him to catch a ball, roll over, and shake hands, and other fun stuff.  I went outside for a walk, and as I was walking back I saw a small rabbit in father’s garden. It was eating something off the ground. Hoping that he didn’t see me coming I stooped down very low, trying hard not to scare him away, but as I came closer he turned his little head. I couldn’t tell if he had seen me or heard me coming, but it just took off into the bushes by the road.

I could tell that Father as excited as I was that Mom was coming the next day. While he was busy instructing his maids about how he wanted the house to look, I was in the garden, hoping that I would see the rabbit again. I knew that rabbits loved to eat carrots, so I took out the bits of carrot I had in my pocket and put them at the same spot I had seen the rabbit at yesterday. I was startled by Father calling me. I got up, brushed my hands off on my pants, and ran inside. Dad told me that he was going to the store to buy a dress for Mother to wear on their dinner date on her birthday, and asked if I wanted to come I ran upstairs to my room to change, put on jeans and a long sleeve shirt that Mom had bought me for Christmas the year before, and the sneakers Dad had bought me me. I like them because they were very comfortable and were in my favorite color, blue.

Father was waiting for me downstairs. As I walked down the steps I noticed something in Father’s hands. He had a camera.

Stay right there, he said. I want to take your picture. I put both hands in my pockets and posed. He smiled when he saw me posing for the picture.

Good pose son, who taught you how to pose like that? We both started laughing. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to fall down the stairs. Luckily my father was there to catch me.

At the store we looked at many different styles, colors, and sizes of dresses. We couldn’t decide which one to buy, until I saw a magazine on the floor, picked it up, and on the cover I saw a woman wearing the most stunning dress I have ever seen. I showed it to Dad and he liked it too. It was a very low cut, off the shoulder, red, tight fitting dress with frills at the bottom. I remembered Mom’s favorite color was red, so I told Dad to buy that dress. He walked over to one of the store clerks. While he was talking to her, I went over to the shoes section, looking for shoes to match the dress.

I found a low heel red and white push toe shoe. I realized that I had never seen my mother wearing high heels before. I didn’t know the reason and had never bothered to ask. I took the shoe up, ran over to where Father was, and told him that he should probably buy the shoe too. As Donovan took the shoe from me, I saw him looking over my shoulders at something. I turned around to see what caught his attention. The store clerk had one of her workers model the dress we saw on the book cover. It looked even more gorgeous than it did in the book. We stopped at a jewelry store on the way home and bought a red diamond necklace to go with the dress.

By the time we got home it was dinner time. Dad told me to go upstairs and wash my hands. Dinner was on the table. He told me that he didn’t like eating alone. I couldn’t wait to see Mom the next day., I told Dad that I didn’t want to come to the airport with him. He was very surprised when I told him that, but I had my reasons why. The next day I waved from my bedroom window as Dad got into his car to go get Mom at the airport. I stood at the window for a while, just admiring the beautiful clouds and the mountain scenery. I hadn’t realized that there was a great view of the mountains from my bedroom window. I had decided that I would give my parents some alone time at the airport so that they could get reacquainted. Fortunately the ride from the airport was long, because I had things to do, like cleaning up my room. Mother didn’t like when I kept my room messy. I slowly closed the window and started picking up stuff off the floor on top of the dresser and behind the door. Finally I was finished and ran downstairs and around the back of the house.

I loved playing around the garden, and watering the garden when Father wasn’t there during the day time. I decided to pick some of the roses that were growing around the front entrance. Cindy, ,my favorite maid, saw me outside and decided to join me.

Do you mind if I join you? she asked.

Not at all! I replied, trying to talk like an English person.

I noticed she had a pair of clippers in her hands.

What is that for? I asked.

I brought these in case you wanted to pick some flowers. I used my finger to point out the roses behind me and told her which one I wanted her to pick. We picked a bunch of red and white roses. We went inside together and Cindy put the roses in a vase with water. I went upstairs to write a birthday note to attach to the flowers. I wrote:

To my wonderful mother who brought me into this world, these flowers are a token of my             appreciation for taking care of me from birth until now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I LOVE          YOU, MOM.

            Love, Richard.

I used red crayons to color the tag. I took it down stairs and gave it to Cindy. Before she attached it to the roses, she read it aloud.

Oh, that’s very touching. She is going to love it, said Cindy.

It was a very long flight to England and Cherry fell asleep. She dreamed that she got off the plane and saw Donovan. They ran into each other’s arms and shared a very long, passionate kiss. Reluctantly, they pulled apart. He knelt on one knee and proposed.  Suddenly she became nervous and scared at the same time. She took a few moments to catch her breath.

Yes! she said. She thought to herself, I have finally found the man of my dreams. It was the first time she had felt truly happy in years.

The plane landed and everybody was getting off the plane when the air hostess noticed that she was sleeping. She went over to Cherry and used her finger to gently tap Cherry on her shoulder. Cherry opened her eyes and realized that it was all a dream. She got up quickly, took up the book she was reading in her carry-on bag and came off the plane. Inside the airport waiting area, Donovan was thinking that the plane seemed to be taking forever to arrive. He finally heard that the plane had arrived as scheduled and suddenly became very nervous. His palms were sweating, and he started pacing back and forth in the waiting area. Basically, he felt like a basket case. Unfortunately she was the last person to get off the plane, and also the last person to collect her luggage. Donovan was getting very impatient because he saw everybody coming out except for Cherry.

As he was about to walk away he heard,Where are you going, Donovan? in a very soft voice. He spun around and saw Cherry struggling with her suitcases. Donovan quickly ran up to her and as they hugged each other the suitcases fell to the floor. That freed her arms so that she could hug him back. He felt a bit awkward doing that, since he wanted to kiss her and hold her tight in his big strong arms—but he managed to restrain himself from getting too emotional. Cherry felt the same connection as when they first met.

Where are my manners? Sorry, how are you? he said.

I am fine, thank you. Where is Richard? she replied.

Donovan told her that for some strange reason he told him that he wasn’t coming. He helped Cherry with her suitcases, then went to the parking lot to get his car. He parked the car in front of her and came out to help her put the luggage into the trunk. She got in the front passenger’s seat and they drove off. On the way to his house they hardly said anything to each other. Cherry had a feeling that Donovan wanted to say something to her but was too shy to do it. Cherry tried to start a conversation.

What’s the weather like this time of the year? she asked.

It’s not too bad now, but  it will get humid, he replied.

She was reaching over the back seat for her pocketbook, the one that Richard had bought her for Christmas the year before. She grabbed it off the seat and rested it on her lap, began to searching for her compact. At last she found it. She flipped it open and started to fix her hair. Donovan looked over and saw what she was doing, then started laughing.

            What so funny? she asked.

Your hair looks perfectly fine to me—do you always have to look fine all the time? was his remark.

Oh, so you think I am fine? she said, and started laughing. So do you think I am sexy, too? she blurted out.

Girl, you are fine and sexy too, he said, laughing,

Where did you learn to speak like that? she asked, surprised.  He told her that he watched a lot of movies, and they both started laughing. They kept joking around with each other until they finally reached their destination. I heard the car door slam as they came out. I got out of bed, still half asleep, and opened the window.

            Mammy, mammy! I said excitedly.

Mother looked up and saw me at the window

Hi sweetheart! I will be right there as soon as I can, she told me.

Dad took her luggage to the guest room that he had converted for her. When mom saw the room she was breathless. There was a big, queen size bed with a nice silk red sheet and red curtains at the window on the wall was a big, flat screen television, and a computer was on the table next to the window. Everything was perfect. She went inside to put the bag that she had in her hand on the bed, and then noticed that there was a bathroom beside the dresser. Red and white toilet mats were on the floor, matching the red shower curtains with white frills at the top. She couldn’t stop smiling, and noticed that Dad was smiling too.

Suddenly she remembered that she had told me that she was coming to see me. They both came to my room but I was sleeping. Mom walked over to the bed and fixed the covers over my shoulders. Then she bent over and kissed me on the cheek (which she always did since I was a baby, every night right before I went to sleep). She stood up and walked over to Donovan. He turned the light off and slowly closed the door. With his hands still on her shoulders they stopped at her room. He leaned over and kissed her gently on her awaiting lips.

The next morning I got up very early. I ran into the guestroom to surprise my mother, but Mom was still sleeping. I lifted up the covers and climbed into the bed beside her. Dad was heading to the kitchen when he noticed that the door to Mom’s room was ajar. He crept toward the door and peeked in. He was surprised when he saw mother and son sound asleep. He quietly closed the door behind him and went downstairs.

Cindy, the maid, knocked on Mom’s door and I got of the bed to open the door. Cindy stepped inside with a breakfast tray. On it was a little note from Dad:

I would like both of you to join me for breakfast on the patio. Thank you..

There was a smile on Mom’s face after she read the note. She told the maid thanks and went to the window, where she saw Donovan on the patio wearing sunglasses. Mother and I got dressed and went to join him. Cherry had on shorts and a thin, see though blouse. As they approached, Father got to his feet and came around to pull out the chairs for both of us. On the other table there was bacon, cheese omelettes, toast, and a basket of fresh fruit (grapes, oranges, apples, and pears). On the table in front of us he had a fresh pot of coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and tea cups and saucers with other kitchen utensils.

Cherry took up the napkin for me and placed it on my lap, then did the same for herself. Donovan felt that he finally had the family he had always wanted. After breakfast Cindy came and cleared the table while we went for a walk in the garden. Dad and Mom were holding hands like a couple of teenagers, and I was holding Mom’s hand. Mother seemed to be enjoying the scenery along the way. It was Cherry’s birthday tomorrow and she was wondering what surprises we had in store for her. I wondered to myself, what was on the other side of the garden?, My parents didn’t even realized that I wasn’t with them. As I came around the corner I saw that rabbit again, but this time his back was turned to me, so he didn’t see me coming. I immediately stooped down and crept as quietly as possible until I was close enough to see what he was doing. He must have heard me because he took off the minute I stopped. He must have had impeccable hearing, I would have liked to catch him and keep him as a pet. I would have named him Pee-Wee the rabbit. Mom and Dad had just realized that I wasn’t with them because they were calling me, I ran out where they could see me.

It was my mother’s birthday and Dad and I had made plans to take her out for dinner. I got out of bed and started coughing. I was pretending to be sick because I wanted them to go without me. As soon as I reached Dad’s room I pushed his door open and went in and I started coughing again.

Are you catching a cold, lad? he asked.

Yes, I told him. He told me to go back to bed and that he sound sent Cindy to come and check on me later.  My father gift wrapped all of the stuff that we had bought at the stores for Mom. He told Cindy to give it to her later in the day, then he left. Mother came into my room and I pretended to be sick again. I had a feeling that Mother knew that I wasn’t really sick, but she just played along to see what I was up to. Cindy went into Cherry’s room to deliver the presents my Father had left. She put them on her bed after she was done tidying up the room.

My Mom had gone back in her room to get something out of her pocket book when she saw the gift on her bed. She sat down and read the note first:

Will you please join us for dinner tonight? We bought this dress for you to wear for            the occasion.

            Love, Donovan and Son

After reading the note she ripped the box open to see what was inside. Cherry loved the dress, and the other gift was a pair of shoes to match the dress. She had left the smallest present for last. As she opened it she was breathless and excited. When she saw the necklace she took it out and immediately went to the mirror in the bathroom and put it on.

I went down stairs for the bunch of roses that I picked for her birthday yesterday and took it to her room. The door was open, so I went in. As soon as I entered the room she came towards me. I gave her the bunch of flowers, and her pretty face lit up like a Christmas tree. She put the flowers on the table beside the computer and began to read the note. There were tears running down her cheeks.

Mom, why are you crying? I asked.

Because I am happy, sweetheart. Your note touched my heart, she replied as she got up, then hugged me so tight I could hardly breathe. Mom went into the bathroom to take a shower and I went back to my room and jumped in the bed, then switched the television on. Mom put on the dress that we bought and came into my room.

How do I look, sweetie? she asked, with a satisfied smile on her face. I told her that she looked like a million dollars! We both laughed at that remark.

I want to be ready before your father gets here, she said hurriedly,

before she went back to her room. Cherry was fully dressed and was waiting on Donovan in her room.

Father came to my room first, and I started coughing again.

How are you feeling now, Son? he said. I told him that my throat was hurting a little and that the coughing wouldn’t stop. He told me that Cindy would give me something for the coughing soon, then he left. He stopped at Mom's room, and  took a deep breath before knocking on the door. Mom opened the door, and Dad was surprised at how wonderful she looked in the dress we had bought. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, and thought that she even looked more beautiful than the woman that was wearing that dress in the magazine.

You look very beautiful in that dress, Cherry, he said.

While he was admiring the dress (he thought the dress and the shoes all fit perfectly), she responded shyly, Why, thank you sir.

He saw the roses on the table. Where on earth did you get these?he asked as he read the card. She told him that I had given them to her this morning. She had thought that he had coached me in writing that wonderful note, but now realized that it all came from me. She had a proud smile on her face when they left.

A black limousine was outside waiting for them. When mother saw the limousine it brought back memories of their first dinner date. As they entered the restaurant, she suddenly became very nervous and hoped that Dad wouldn’t notice. The waiter came up to them and asked for their names before he took them to their table. They got a table for two at the corner of the room with a great view of the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was very elegant; each table had a beautiful chandelier made of glass hanging over it. Some of the tables were larger than others, but all of them were made of glass. On the table there were two wine glasses and other utensils.

Dad tried to start a conversation. So how are you enjoying your stay so far? he asked.

Well I just love your country, Donovan. I always wanted to come here. Now that I am here it seems as though I am still dreaming. I just can’t believe that I am really here! she answered.

Cherry was trying desperately to control her emotions. When Mom wasn’t looking Dad made a signal to one of the waiters. Suddenly music started playing, and Mother realized that it was the same song she was listening to on her day off while she was relaxing in the Jacuzzi at the hotel where she met him. He got up, held out his hands, and asked her for a dance.

She put her hands in his and said, Yes, I would love to. Mother felt an overwhelming connection as they began to dance. She felt weak in the knees from the romantic way with which he held her so close to him. She started remembering the incident that happened in the elevator that had made her all weak in the knees years ago. When the song finished they were holding hands. Finally they went back to their seats.

In the back seat of the limousine Dad and Mom were having a good time. They didn’t realize that the limousine had stopped until the driver cleared his throat. As they were coming out dad grabbed what was left of the bottle of wine. He escorted her to her room and they stopped at her room door. Before he said good night, he leaned over and kissed her gently on her awaiting lips.

I had a lovely time, thank you, she said.

Me too, he answered as he walked back to his room.

In the room Mother threw herself across her bed. Looking up at the ceiling she started daydreaming again (after Cherry heard Dad’s door close she would quietly open her door knock on his...once the door was open he would grab her arm and pull her into his room...the minute their eyes met they would begin kissing each other like two wild animals. Backing up to the bed, she would fall on top of him on the bed, as they were still kissing. Hewould use his right hand to try to unzip her dress...) She was brought back to reality when she heard a knock on her door.

She got up and opened the door. he was standing there. Before she could say anything, he came in and sat down on her bed. She sat down beside him. From his actions she knew that he had something on his mind. Dad turned and took both of Mom’s hands in his, and as they looked into each others’ eyes, he hesitated, then took a deep breath. Mother could tell that he was nervous.

He waited a few moments before he begin to talk,

Cherry, he said. They kept eye contact. I.loveyou and I want us to be a family, he said nervously.

As he tried to control his emotions, he told her that he never forgotten her over those years. After they lost contact with each other and after his divorce, he had tried desperately to find her. He tried getting information from the hotel she was working at when they first met, but they refused to give out any kind of personal information. He told her that he actually went back to the hotel to find her but they told him that she had resigned from the job and that they didn't have any current address for her. But now he had found her. He wouldn’t let her go again. While saying this he was looking at her hands. When he looked up back in her eyes he saw tears running down her pretty face. Dad used his fingers to wipe her tears away, then continued .

Cherry, will you be my wife? he said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He told her that he bought the ring before he came to America to meet his son, but he just couldn’t find the courage to ask her. With tears still running down her face Mom got up and walked over to the window with her back turned to him.

Can I at least think about it? she replied.

He was standing behind, and as he held her shoulders with both hands and gently turned her around they shared another long, passionate kiss, which made her weak in the knees again. Dad went back to his room. Mother wiped the tears of joy from her face as she walked back over to the bed, then realized that Dad had left the ring on her bed. She took the ring out and tried it, on and while she was playing with the ring on her finger she fell asleep almost immediately.

That night she had a very strange dream, which she tried desperately to remember the next day. I woke up crying because I couldn’t find Mr. Sparks anywhere. Mom must have heard me crying, and came into my room. She asked me what was wrong, and I told her that I couldn’t find Mr. Sparks, so she decided to help me look for him. We looked under the bed, behind the door, in the dresser drawers and in the closets, but we couldn’t find him.

Richard, can you remember the last time you had him? she asked me.

I told her that I had him yesterday when I went downstairs to get the bunch of roses for her birthday, and that that was the last time I remembered seeing him.

Okay, baby, I am going downstairs to ask the maids if they happened to see him anywhere, she said hurriedly as she ran down the steps. Mother asked the entire staff if they had seen the stuffed toy, but everyone said no. Mom was in the living room looking for it when Cindy asked her what she was looking for. Mother told her, and as she described how the toy looked, Cindy remembered that she found it in the back garden the day before while she was tending to the flowers. It was so dirty that she washed it and hung it on the fence to dry.

I was just waiting for it to dry before I asked him if it was his. I am sorry if I caused him to worry. Do you want me to bring it to him now? she apologized.

No, no that’s okay. I will take it to him myself. Thanks for your honesty, she said to Cindy. Mother went to the back garden looking for Mr. Sparks and found him right were Cindy had told her that she left him.

As Mother was on her way to my room, she saw Dad on the floor in the room he had converted into a little office. She immediately ran up the stairs into the room and knelt down to check if he was still breathing, then shouted for help. Cindy was downstairs when she heard Mother screaming.

Call 911! she shouted. He is unconscious but still breathing!

It wasn’t before the police came, with the ambulance following behind them. Four policemen ran upstairs into the room, and the paramedics put him on the stretcher. He was rushed to the hospital. Mother was in the ambulance with him, holding his hands the whole time.

At the hospital, Mother was in the waiting area, pacing pacing back and forth until she saw the doctor coming towards her.

How is he, Doctor? she said breathlessly. Tears were starting to run down her cheeks. The doctor hesitated for a moment, as though he was thinking of how to tell her what was wrong with him without worrying her too much. The doctor held her hands and pulled her to the corner of the room. He told her that he wasn’t sure of what had caused him to pass out on the floor, but that he would like to keep him overnight to run some more tests so that he could diagnose him properly. He was breathing okay for now, though, and she could go see him, although only for a few minutes. Mother told him okay, and while she was heading to Dad’s room she was wiping her tears with the back of her hand. Dad was conscious when she came into his room.

You gave me quite a scare, Donovan, she said while wiping away the tears from her eyes. She sat down on the chair next to his bed and held his hands in hers.

Have you made up your mind about being my wife? he said, as he coughed. Before answering, she held up her hand and showed him the ring on her finger. That put a smile on his face. He fell asleep again, and Mother spent the night by his bed in the chair beside him. The next morning the nurse came into the room to check his vitals. He opened his eyes, and they took him to run another test. Later, the doctor came back to tell her the results of the test, and said that he was suffering from severe depression. He asked her if she knew of anything that he might be worrying about, but Mother told the doctor that she couldn’t think of anything. He went on and told her that it was also stress related. He would need plenty of rest, and he must continue to take medication. After finishing that she must take him back to see him. She told the doctor that she would and went back in the room.

Dad was released late in the evening. On their way home, Mother told him what the doctor had told her. He was quiet for the rest of the journey. At home, Mother helped him out of the car and up the steps to his room. It was her first time in his room. There was a king size bed, a big, flat screen television that looked like a closet when it was off and opened up when it was switched on. There was also a black leather couch, a double mirror dresser, and a walk in closet. I ran into the room to greet my dad.

Be gentle with him because he is not quite well yet, she said. Mother said that that she had something to tell me, and I was excited to hear whatever she had say. She lifted me up and put me on Dad’s lap on the bed. She took a deep breath and said, Your father has asked me to marry him, and I told him yes. I was so excited that I couldn’t control myself! Before jumping off the bed I turned to Dad.

Are we going to be a real family? I asked excitedly.

Yes, Dad said after a few minutes.

Where are we going to live, here in England? I asked Dad as I ran to my room excitedly. I stopped as I remembered something and went back into his room.

Will my brother and sisters be living here with us too? I asked happily.

We are all going to live here as a big happy family, Dad said with a big smile on his face. The next day while Mom and Dad were out, I went outside to the back garden just in time to see the same rabbit at the same spot I had seen him before. I bent down on my knees and crawled towards him as quietly as I could, but every time, he took off as soon as he heard or saw me coming. I got up and walked back inside the house, where I went to sit on one of the lounge chairs on the patio and wondered what it would be like living here like a real family.

A couple of months after Mom and Dad got married, my brother and sisters came to live with us. On my 12th birthday my father came home with a big box and told me to open it. Excitedly, I opened the box and saw a white poodle! I named him Sparkle because his eyes looked like they sparkled at night. Mom moved into Dad’s room, and my big sister Sammy now occupies her old room. My big brother took the room at the end of the hall, and my other sister got the room that was right across from mine. Every Friday night we have what we call family night, where we play family games such as Monopoly or Life, and sometimes we play Scrabble.

Childhood christmas memory

I got up very early the on Christmas Eve, just to see if my mom has put the Christmas present under the tree yet. Oh yea it was there. Every year my mother and her sister (which is my aunty) would start cooking early on Christmas morning and they always cook a lot of food and invite her friends and family for dinner (a feast I would say).

I went up stairs to finish wrapping some Christmas presents that I bought a few days ago. I bought gifts for my two sisters, my big brother and my parents of course. I bought some earrings for Sandy (my big sister) and I bought a nice watch for my other sister Debbie (which is only one year older than me) and for my big brother Bobby I bought a shaving set because he was always shaving in the bathroom and last but not least I got my mom a pocket book with a lot of compartments so that she can arrange her stuff in it. I used all the money that I have been saving up, from the first week in October.

This Christmas is going to be the best Christmas ever, why? Because I will be meeting my biological father for the first time. I was anxious to see what he looks like, if he resembles me, if he has my blue eyes, you know things like that. My mother always told me that he looks a lot like me. I was ten years old at the time. And she told me once that he lives in England, but he was married to another woman and that they were living together. She also told me some story that, the reason why my father wasn't in my life, was because she couldn't tell him about me and she didn't want to break up his marriage. But as the years went by she realized that she needed his help. Anyways, she got up enough courage to finally let him know that she had his son. she knew that he can afford to help her because he was a millionaire. I get the feeling that she was still in love with him.

She really needed the money to help with bills among other expenses. I didn't get enough sleep last night because I was too anxious to see my father for the first time. It was six in the afternoon when my mom went to pick him up at the air port. I started watching the clock on the wall in the living room, just counting down the hours then the minutes. Until I heard my mother parted her car into the drive way. I ran to the door to open it and when I got the first glimpse of my father I felt a little dizzy, but I ran right into his arms he kept kissing me all over, saying that he loved me. So now you know the reason why I would never forget this Christmas and it was the best Christmas present I have ever got.

My frist letter to Santa

I was about six years old at the time; normally I would gone straight home after school but it was getting close to Christmastime, so I decided to go around the local stores in my area (you know the one nearby) just to check out the prices of what I wanted Santa to buy for my Christmas present this year. Well the first store I went to didn't have what I wanted, so I went to store after store until I found the perfect gift that I wanted Santa to get me for Christmas. The store was just a few blocks from where I lived. The name of the store was Macy's; it was a very big store. It had lots of toys for everyone and the good thing was it wasn't too expressive at all because all the toys were on sale.

My mother told me when you are going to shop for a gift, you must always shop around first for the best prices because sometimes you will end up buying something at a store then another store around the corner may have the same thing but at a cheaper price. She also told to remember to stay within my budget. But because, I saw that those toys were on sale I didn't bother to shop around to compare prices; I just went straight to what I wanted and look at how much the cost was so that I could tell Santa in my letter.

It was a big doll house; I know that I had been a good little girl all year, so I didn't think Santa would mind buying this present for me. Anyways the doll house was about six inches tall it has one door and four windows, the bed rooms were up stairs and so was the bathroom. The kitchen was down stairs with a little fridge and a stove in it, with a window at the sink. It also has a living room and all the rooms had furniture in them. The color of the doll house was pink and white.

It only cost like fifty dollars. I did saw some nice earrings that I wanted to get for my mother this Christmas because, she loves to wear different earrings to work. I don't know what I am going to get my dad this year men stuff are so expensive these days. Shopping for my mom is much easier. Last Christmas I bought my mom a nice watch with the money that I saved up but my father gave me the rest of the money.

And the last two Christmases I only ask for dolls, and I always wrote Santa a thank you note letting him know how grateful I was for the gifts he has given me over the years and how I have enjoyed playing with them, although they are getting old and some are missing body parts. I really don't mind because I still play with them. So this is what I wrote Santa this year.

Dear Santa, I am please to tell you that I have been a very good girl this year. So after school I went down to the store and checked out the price of the gift I want you to get me this year. It's not that expensive because it is on sale. it's a big pink and white doll house, I always wanted a doll house because I wanted some where safe to put my dolls instead of under my bed.

I will send you a thank you note as I always do. And please don't tell my mother that I went to the store myself. Love, Donna

moving in together

Dennis and Sharon have been going out together for over five years now and finally they made a decision to move in together, Sharon was excited about the idea. At work, all she could think about was moving in with Dennis. On her way home she decided to stop at the store to pick up some stuff for her new home, things like curtains, drapes, bathroom set, air freshener and some other stuff. They have been apartment hunting for over a week now and they found a very nice apartment in Brooklyn, somewhere close to their jobs. It had two bedrooms and each bedroom had its own bathroom, a big kitchen and a little patio at the side of the building with a great view of the city. Sharon and Dennis decided on getting a two bedroom because, they wanted to have an extra room in-case they have a friend or a family member staying over. Christmas was only a week away and they had decided on moving in together before Christmas.

Sharon felt as if she was in a fairy tale movie. She started wondering what it would be like living with him, knowing that they will see each other every day, sleeping in the same bed, no more weekend visits. Suddenly she was snapped back to reality when the door bell rang she got up and ran down the stairs to open the door. It was Vicky (her best friend from ever since they were children) she most have forgotten that Vicky was coming over to help her pack. As soon as Vicky enters the room, she gave Sharon a hug then they both went upstairs. There wasn’t time for any chit chatting because the moving truck would be there for the stuff any minute now. Two hours later the Uhaul truck pulls up in the drive way, they open the window to tell the driver to come up a little closer. Sharon went down stairs to open the door so that the men would take the furniture’s out. Vicky and Sharon were in the kitchen when the truck finally left.

Dennis was waiting patiently at their new apartment when his cell phone rang, Sharon “hi baby the truck is on the way ok, bye later” before Dennis could say anything, she hang up the phone. Sharon put the phone in her pocket book and went down stairs to help her friend finish cleaning up the living room. Vicky was in her car honking the horn for Sharon to come out of the house. Sharon was just taking a last look at her old apartment. She reaches into her pocket book, took out a penny and places it on the floor in the middle of the room and left. It was an old tradition of her family, they do that whenever they move from one place to another, and they believe that it will bring them luck.

The girls were in the bed room upstairs putting away stuff into the dressers while David was down stairs in the kitchen cooking dinner. Dennis is a chef for about 3 years now; he works at a very big restaurant down town Brooklyn. He is currently planning on opening up his own restaurant pretty soon. He just needs to get a loan from his bank and with some help from his friend Mike he should be able to finalize everything by the end of the year. Ever since he was a teenager he just loves cooking, his dream was to become a chef and own his own restaurant and I guess his dream is finally coming true.

Dennis shouted “girls’ dinner is ready” Sharon and Vicky ran down stairs and they were surprised to see, what David has done to the dining room table, there were at least five candles each of a different color, three wine glasses and food in separate dishes. He cooked shrimps, chicken, pork and ham, there were rice, mash potatoes and a big bowl of salad in the center of the table. Sharon and Vicky were speechless when they saw all that food on the table. Both girls sat down and David came and pours wine in their glasses, then he sat down beside Sharon. After dinner the girls did the dishes. Then, Dennis and the girls went into the living room to relax and watch a movie. Sharon and

Dennis tried to convince Vicky to stay over but, Vicky insist that she had to leave and because she didn’t want to spoil their first night together in their new home.

After Vicky left, they went to bed early because they, were too tired to finish unpacking the rest of their stuff besides they had the whole weekend to do that. The next day Sharon, got up very early because she wanted to surprise Dennis by making him breakfast. Looking at a picture of her and Dennis, she started day dreaming again, how wonderful it would be living together, having him around every day would be great. They would be doing a lot of stuff together, like having a candle light dinner every now and then, going on vacations together and you know fun stuff then suddenly she was snap back to reality when she heard a voice saying “are you alright”. Sharon turns around to see Dennis, with no shirt on, only his boxers she said to herself “boy he is so sexy in those boxers”. She took a minute to catch her breath before answering him “yes I am ok thanks”. He came down the stairs and gave her a hug and she felt as if she was melting in his big strong arms.

After they had finished unpacking the rest of their stuff they went to the mall to get a Christmas tree. Sharon wanted to buy an artificial tree but Dennis insists on buying a real Christmas tree. They bought a lot of decorations like, ornaments, Christmas lights and a reef to put on the front door. They stopped at the store to get some more groceries and then they went home. They had a lot of fun setting up the Christmas tree; they were laughing and making fun of each other while putting on the ornaments on the tree. The hardest part was getting that star at the very top of the tree, finally it was all done. They took a lot of pictures of the tree and with the tree.

While Dennis, was out running some last minute chores he said he had to do. Sharon finally got the chance to rap some Christmas presents that, she had bought for him. She

went down stairs to put the presents under the tree, that’s when she saw that Dennis had put some gifts under the tree already. Sharon didn’t remember him putting them there but the idea put a smile on her face. As she was about to take up one of the presents she heard Dennis came in. He came in, kisses her on the cheek, and then he went upstairs. Every time he kisses her she, had this funny but wonderful feeling that ran through her entire body it was something she couldn’t explain even if she wanted to.

The next day was Christmas and Sharon was excited because they were planning this Christmas dinner for weeks. Their parents and some of their friends were coming over it was their first dinner party and everything had to be perfect. While Dennis was in the kitchen cooking Sharon was busy pasting name tags on the back of the chairs around the dining table. She was putting, wine glasses, knives and forks, dishes, and spoons on the table. She decided to use the two tables by the window, to put the food so that everybody could go around and serve themselves. After that, she went in the kitchen to help Dennis by washing plates, pots, forks, bowls or any other dirty dishes in the sink that he had finish using.

After they have finished all the cooking and placing stuff on the table, they had about two hours to themselves. They decided to take a bubble bath together, and then get dressed for the party; fortunately, they had some extra time to relax a little before their guess starts arriving. One by one their guess started coming one after the other. Vicky was the first to arrive, because she promise to come early to help move stuff around for the party, while Vicky and Sharon was busy doing stuff Dennis was doing some last minute arrangement in the kitchen. The door bell rang Dennis, went to answer the door, it was his mom and dad. When the last guess arrived everybody all went in the dining room. Vicky went in the living room to turn down the music a little.

Before everyone starts eating Dennis took his spoon and hit his wine glass twice saying “I have an announcement to make” then everybody was quite for a moment, Dennis stood up and reach into his pocket, took out a gift and as he place the box in front of her she remembered that, he told her he had some last minute shopping to do yesterday. Suddenly, Sharon felt very nervous, as she took up the box, in her mind she kept saying to herself (is this what I think it is) she closed her eyes for a moment then took a deep breath open her eyes and open the box (yes she was right it was an engagement ring) Sharon was breathless and in tears when Dennis said “will you marry me”? With tears running down her cheeks Sharon got up and said “yes” and gave Dennis the longest kiss she had ever given him, then everybody started cheering and saying congratulation to both of them. It was truly a big surprise of her life and the best Christmas present anyone could ever get.

clubs in Jamaica

Do you love going to the clubs? Most  young  people love going to the clubs on a Friday  night, some guys go every Friday night like clock work  right after work.some clubs are very expensive but you have others that are quite reasonable. Most clubs in Jamaica had different rules, such as a certain type of dress code (no half naked girls allowed) you know young  girls love to dress up with short shirts way above their knees and if they bend down you can see every thing you shouldn’t, which I don’t think is appropriate to wear when going to certain places. If you are going to the beach well thats ok

Clubs in Jamaica has different features like live entertainment, drink all night where you only pay to go in and you get free drinks all night but lol lol you know that there have to be a catch and it is instead of paying the regular fee to go in you would pay about $10 to $20 extra lol lol you didn’t know what they have to have some thing up their sleeve  didn’t yah!!!! any way they have  Ladies night too where all ladies goes in free, Ha Ha some guys will go  as far as dress up like ladies just to get in free can you believe it, Oh no they never get away

with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then last but not least you have couples night, where you don’t have a girl you are not allowed in and you only pay one money for both of you. Oh Yea I know what you are thinking nooooooooo no gay couple ALLOWED not in Jamaica clubs.

Now you tell me which one of the nights you would rather go oh oh I don’t have to guess which one DRINK ALL NIGHT am I right i know alright on that nights its always packed.

Mothers Day

Does anybody know what Mother’s Day really means? Well for me, I think it’s a day when you let your mother know how much you appreciate her for bringing you into this world. It’s a day when families should honor their mothers and spend this special day with their mothers.

I believe that Mother’s Day is celebrated all over the world. When I hear the words mother’s day the first thing came to my mind was flowers. After you have your first child that’s when you realize what it’s like to be a mother, it’s the greatest feeling ever. I felt proud when I hear my child call me mom, mommy, or mama. The most common present is flowers and fruit basket. I usual give my mother a card. If you can’t afford a presents just call and say happymother day, because it is the thought that count.

The history of mother goes way back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece In honor of Rhea, the mother of God. It was in the 1600’s the early Christmas in England celebration a day to honor Mary the mother of God. The holiday was later expanded in the sore to include mothers and name it as mothering Sunday. It was celebration on the 4th Sunday of lent I believe it was a 40 day period leading up to Easter. In United States mother’s day was loosely inspired by the British day. Julia begun to promote the idea of “Mother’s Day” for peace to be celebration on June 2 honoring peace, Motherhood and womanhood, until it was change to be celebrate sometime in May.
